These window boxes offer homeowners an affordable way to add value to their home’s landscape. These boxes require minimal cutting and best of all they can be created for a total cost of less than ten dollars.
Materials:
- Palette
- Screwdriver
- Drill
- Woodscrews
- Outdoor paint (I got mine from the dump’s paint recycling center)
- Braces (I got mine from the dollar store)
Cut the bottom off a palette with a saw. Three cuts and this end came off easy. The result: a simple box.
Pry an additional board of the palette for the bottom of the window box.
Using a drill, screwdriver, and some wood screws attach the bottom piece onto the window box.
Attach the braces to the house underneath the window. I purchased these from the dollar store for a dollar each.
Paint or stain the window boxes with outdoor paint or stain.
Fill with soil and plant flowers.
Enjoy!
