Few know that located in the Arbor Hills community adjacent to Killearn Estates are the remains of a once massive Prehistoric Native American Village. Known today as the Velda Mound, A chain length fence, a smattering of benches, and a thick covering of trees cloak the ancient mound.
In 1966, the Killearn Estates’ Master Plan included 13 acres of space dedicated to a riding academy and miles of Bridle Trails. (On a side note there are still Stables in Eastgate and horses have been spotted on roads recently in Killearn Acres.)
Honoring our past means honoring those who came before us who changed the world we live in. Many of those who have made a huge impact on history did so just by doing what they love to the best of their abilities.
Millers Landing – Located just off of Meridian Road, Millers Landing is by far one of the most beautiful canopy roads in Tallahassee. Follow the winding road beneath the high oak canopy all the way to the end and you will be rewarded with a breathtaking view of Lake Jackson.
