What Does A REALTOR® Look Like?

it takes a special person to be a REALTOR and mother

Have you ever wondered what a REALTOR® looks like. Believe it or not, they walk among us. Today’s most recent statistics provided by the National Association of REALTORS® tell us that the typical REALTOR® is a 53-year-old female who has attended some college, owns a home, and has been in the business for more than ten years. However, I am not that woman.

I am in the minority of REALTORS® (11%) who run a real estate blog. I am also much younger than the average realtor. As a younger woman, mother, and real estate blogger, I am intimately connected to the Tallahassee community and extremely knowledgable about the real estate market.

Although I am a new licensee, I have been working behind the scenes in the real estate business for the past five years. In the last year, I made the leap and transitioned into a full-time REALTOR®.

I am not exaggerating when I say that it takes a special kind of woman to be a REALTOR® and mother. Although, the ranks are slim, I can tell you something about the few who hold these special positions in tandem.

QUALITIES OF MOTHERS/ REALTORS®

  • Fiercely dedicated
  • Great negotiators (we practice every night at bedtime)
  • Fantastic multi-taskers
  • Superb time-management abilities
  • Creative thinkers (we are doing things differently and that’s a good thing!)
